Welcome to Ascend. By using our app or purchasing our products, you agree to these terms.

1. OVERVIEW

Ascend is a focus and productivity app that works with a physical NFC card to help you block distracting apps and stay focused. The app is free to download; the NFC card is sold separately.

2. THE ASCEND NFC CARD

- The NFC card is required to activate app blocking features
- Each card is sold individually and is non-transferable
- Cards are programmed specifically for use with the Ascend app
- Do not attempt to reprogram or modify the card

3. APP FUNCTIONALITY

- App blocking uses Apple's Screen Time API
- You control which apps are blocked during focus sessions
- Blocking settings are stored locally on your device
- We are not responsible for missed calls, messages, or notifications while blocking is active

4. YOUR ACCOUNT

- You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account
- You must provide accurate information when creating an account
- You may delete your account at any time through the app
- We reserve the right to suspend accounts that violate these terms

5. ACCEPTABLE USE

You agree not to:
- Use the app for any illegal purpose
- Attempt to hack, reverse engineer, or exploit the app
- Share your account with others
- Resell or redistribute the NFC card

6. SOCIAL FEATURES

- Leaderboard and friend features display your username and focus time
- You can control who sees your information through friend requests
- Be respectful when interacting with other users

7. INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY

The Ascend app, brand, and related materials are owned by us. You may not copy, modify, or distribute our intellectual property without permission.

8. DISCLAIMER OF WARRANTIES

The app and card are provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee that the app will be error-free or uninterrupted.

9. LIMITATION OF LIABILITY

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of Ascend.

10. CHANGES TO TERMS

We may update these terms at any time. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the new terms.
